it'd be nice if guests could 'flag' a video in the palylist, that'd be able to give feedback for the room owner ( say by having a list you can sort by deletion votes) and also enable them to enter a percentage of current viewers to auto delete (and a toggle to enable / disable that function)
Chat tabs/ higlighting suggestion
it appears to me that system lines of chat can start to add up, so either different tabs for system / chat, highlighting when your name was used, or a darker / colored backdrop for chat messages in general would be cool
I've been listening to a tons of music with friends and it seems like Sync-Video doesn't like Last.fm scrobbleing even with the extentions and everything. It works with you tube and other things but I don't think it picks up sync-video. I would certainly love if something was changed so Last.fm scrobbleing worked with sync video
Royal-Blue donation access question
Hey, just would like to know how long does it usualy take to be able to enjoy some of the Royal-Blue perks after a donation?
Seem to have been waiting for a couple of days now, no response from e-mail either...
Usually it takes below 24 hours to have it activated. If you haven't got it after this time, please send us a message to firstname.lastname@example.org and provide some information about your donation! Also it's important to logout and login again to activate Royal-Blue status.
I want to play back files hosted by google video and i think blogpost also. The files themselves are MP4, and the MIME type announces this, but when i try to play it on sync-video, it won't play back because the extension isn't .mp4 or .flv. It would be neat if the server could grab the file headers and determine from there the MIME type. I don't think it's more costly for the server to do it this way.
An example is https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1c-xcTxfallAHl93TZWuuaduUc5ADUMIutuoEGFH1Rem=m18
There's a chance that the URL redirects to another one, but I don't think it would be costly to server-side follow the redirect down a single level and check the MIME there.
I wanted to look into a service to replace online radio and it be online visual radio, I googled and your site came up and I thought it was a great implementation. I have played around with it a lot now and there is one feature I think would be good...
When I am not around to attend the video, it cuts me off and makes someone else the person that is able to delete items in the playlist. Is there a way to get it to be owned by one person always? So that if I leave it at night before I go to bed for example, it doesnt let a random person come in and take over. This is a feature I would even pay for!
Great work guys really. It is a service that could be the future of live TV too!
About Saving Playlists suggestion
Whenever you first load a playlist into a new room, the save-option doesn't hold on to the name, So I'd like to request, either that it does retain the name, or even better have a Update saved playlist or something along those lines
Little Bug in the FAQ error
Hello sync-video Team Smiley
while reading the FAQ i found a little Bug:
What does !, @, ~ mean?
! - Operator of the room (slected by owner)
i bet you mean selected and not “slected” Smiley
I know, just a little bug, but still feel free to fix it Smiley
Bug when creating lobby. error
For two months (minimum) when a lobby is first created and a video is added, the video shows a still for the creator, but is playing for anyone who joins.
I Frequently make lobbies for friends and wait for them to join before playing the video, but as soon as they join they are generally 10-20 seconds into the video without me realizing it because it isn't playing for me.
